In “How to see yourself as who you really are”, His Holiness the Dalai Lama taught, “Love and compassion are what we must strive to cultivate in ourselves, extending their present boundaries all the way to the limitlessness. Undiscriminating, spontaneous, unlimited love and compassion are possible even toward someone who has harm you and this power is astonishing.

Happiness that is a by-product of loving and serving others is far superior to what we gain from serving only ourselves.”

This is the teaching of a highly conscious being. Majority of humanity at the current level are not capable of such noble conduct. However, if we have a little bit of intelligence, we should be able to see that love, compassion, kindness and forgiveness are the only attributes that are going to save our lives. Our modern life problems cannot be solved by our current chaotic mind. All answers will only come as a result of our inner development via hard, long, persistent personal effort to overcome our negative emotions and cultivate our positive attributes.

We will not be able to be kind towards everybody or even capable of compassion for as long as we remain ignorant and unconscious. Our conflict between each other arises from a failure to understand how much we all have in common. We are all suffering from fear and sense of low self-worth; we are all suffering from pain of not being good enough; we all try to strive to be accepted, to be loved, to be significant.

Accept each other in our perfect imperfection. Embrace each other’s difference and agree to disagree because it is in our dynamic differences, we create the harmony with our love and acceptance of each other.
